Terms of Service
Last updated: September 1, 2026
1. About These Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Lifict, including the Lifict website, Closed Alpha, applications, AI-powered storytelling features, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account, participating in the Closed Alpha, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Content Policy.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information.
If you do not agree to these Terms or the Content Policy, you must not use the Service.
Lifict is currently a pre-launch service. Information identifying the responsible service provider will be published where required by applicable law before public commercial operation.
2. Adults Only
Lifict is an adults-only interactive storytelling platform.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the Service.
You must also be legally permitted to access the Service in the country or region where you are located.
By registering for or using Lifict, you confirm that you satisfy these requirements.
We may require additional age assurance or age verification where:
- required by applicable law;
- required for access from a particular country or region;
- necessary to comply with regulatory obligations; or
- we reasonably require additional assurance that a user is eligible to use the Service.
Age assurance may be performed through a specialized third-party provider.
Where technically and legally possible, Lifict intends to receive only the result necessary to establish that a user is 18 or older rather than copies of identification documents, selfies, or biometric information.
If required age assurance cannot be completed, we may restrict or deny access to the Service.
Misrepresenting your age or attempting to bypass age-assurance controls may result in account suspension or termination.
3. Closed Alpha and Pre-Release Service
Lifict may be provided as a Closed Alpha, beta, preview, experimental, or otherwise pre-release service.
During these stages:
- some features may be incomplete or experimental;
- functionality may be added, changed, restricted, or removed;
- availability may be interrupted;
- AI models and providers may change;
- usage limits may apply;
- data structures may be migrated;
- story memory or story-state systems may change; and
- access may be limited to selected participants.
We will take reasonable measures to preserve user data, but pre-release versions of Lifict should not be relied upon as permanent storage for irreplaceable information.
Participation in the Closed Alpha does not guarantee permanent access to Lifict or to any particular feature.
4. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for activity performed through your account.
You agree to provide accurate information where information is required for registration, eligibility, security, or payments.
You may not:
- sell or transfer your account without authorization;
- knowingly allow a person under 18 to access Lifict through your account;
- create or use accounts to evade restrictions, suspensions, or bans;
- access another person's account without authorization;
- falsely represent your identity where identity is relevant to a feature;
- bypass age-assurance systems;
- bypass moderation or safety controls; or
- interfere with account or platform security.
Please contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.
5. What Lifict Provides
Lifict is an interactive fictional storytelling service powered in part by artificial intelligence.
The Service may include features such as:
- AI characters;
- interactive stories;
- fictional dialogue;
- character creation;
- story creation;
- personas;
- long-term story memory;
- relationship progression;
- story summaries;
- story-state tracking;
- editing;
- regeneration;
- alternative responses;
- branching story paths; and
- other creative storytelling tools.
Lifict supports a range of fictional genres and themes, including romance, fantasy, science fiction, mystery, adventure, horror, dark romance, slice of life, and mature fictional themes.
Not every story or character contains sexual, violent, or otherwise mature content.
6. AI-Generated Content
Content generated through artificial intelligence ("Generated Content") is inherently probabilistic.
Generated Content may sometimes be inaccurate, inconsistent, incomplete, unexpected, offensive, repetitive, or unsuitable for your preferences.
Unless clearly identified otherwise, characters, dialogue, and scenarios presented through Lifict are fictional.
Generated Content must not be treated as factual or relied upon as professional medical, legal, financial, tax, emergency, mental-health, or other expert advice.
Lifict does not guarantee:
- factual accuracy;
- perfect story continuity;
- uniqueness of Generated Content;
- uninterrupted access to a particular AI model or provider;
- that a character will always behave consistently; or
- that every generation will satisfy your expectations.
AI models may occasionally produce content that does not reflect Lifict's policies or intended behavior.
7. User Content
"User Content" means content that you submit, create, upload, publish, or otherwise provide through Lifict.
User Content may include:
- characters;
- stories;
- personas;
- prompts;
- messages;
- descriptions;
- lore;
- fictional settings;
- images;
- creator profiles;
- comments; and
- other materials you provide.
You retain any ownership rights you already hold in your original User Content.
Lifict does not acquire ownership of your original User Content merely because you use the Service.
8. License Necessary to Operate the Service
By submitting User Content, you grant Lifict a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, transmit, process, format, and technically modify that content where reasonably necessary to:
- provide the Service;
- generate AI responses;
- maintain story continuity and memory;
- synchronize Service features;
- create backups;
- maintain security;
- investigate abuse;
- enforce these Terms and the Content Policy;
- comply with applicable law; and
- operate and maintain Lifict.
For private User Content, this license is limited to purposes reasonably connected with providing, maintaining, securing, and legally operating the Service.
This license does not grant Lifict a general right to sell your private conversations or publish private stories to other users.
How private conversations may be processed by AI providers or used for Service improvement is described in our Privacy Policy.
If Lifict provides public publishing features and you intentionally publish User Content, you additionally grant Lifict permission to display, distribute, index, recommend, and make that published content available through the Service for as long as it remains published, subject to reasonable backup, moderation, security, and legal-retention requirements.
9. Generated Content and Ownership
As between you and Lifict, Lifict does not claim ownership of Generated Content produced specifically for you, to the extent that rights in such Generated Content can exist under applicable law.
You acknowledge that:
- legal protection for AI-generated material differs between jurisdictions;
- some Generated Content may not qualify for copyright protection;
- similar or identical material may be generated for other users; and
- Generated Content may refer to or resemble material owned by third parties.
Nothing in these Terms grants you ownership of third-party intellectual property merely because it appears in Generated Content.
10. Responsibility for Your Content
You are responsible for User Content that you create, upload, submit, or publish.
You represent that you have the rights, permissions, licenses, consent, or other lawful basis necessary to use and, where applicable, publish that content through Lifict.
You must not use Lifict in a way that violates:
- applicable law;
- copyright;
- trademark rights;
- privacy rights;
- publicity or personality rights;
- contractual rights;
- other third-party rights; or
- our Content Policy.
The presence of content on Lifict does not mean that Lifict has reviewed, approved, licensed, sponsored, or endorsed that content.
11. Adult and Mature Fiction
Lifict is an adults-only storytelling platform, but Lifict is not exclusively a sexual or erotic service.
Stories may include themes such as:
- romance;
- dark romance;
- sexuality;
- violence;
- horror;
- crime;
- morally complex characters;
- difficult relationships; and
- other mature fictional subjects.
Consensual sexual and erotic text involving clearly adult fictional characters may be permitted where it complies with our Content Policy and applicable law.
Certain content may be unavailable or more restricted in particular jurisdictions or through particular Service features.
The fact that Lifict permits some mature fictional themes does not mean that all sexual, violent, exploitative, or otherwise harmful content is permitted.
Our Content Policy defines the applicable boundaries.
12. Public Images and Presentation
Lifict may apply stricter standards to publicly visible visual material than to private fictional text.
Pornographic or sexually explicit imagery may be prohibited from character avatars, story covers, thumbnails, profiles, discovery surfaces, and other publicly visible areas even where mature textual storytelling is otherwise permitted.
Additional rules regarding sexual content, imagery, violence, and public presentation are provided in our Content Policy.
13. Intellectual Property and Fan-Created Content
Characters, fictional universes, artwork, stories, names, brands, logos, images, trademarks, and other material may be protected by intellectual-property rights belonging to third parties.
Lifict does not grant you rights to third-party intellectual property merely because similar content appears on the Service.
Fan-created, referential, parody, commentary, or transformative content may be permitted where lawful.
You remain responsible for determining whether you have a lawful basis to create, use, or publish third-party material.
You may not falsely state or imply that fan-created content is:
- official;
- licensed;
- authorized;
- sponsored; or
- endorsed by the applicable rights holder.
For example, the presence of a user-created character inspired by an existing fictional universe does not mean that Lifict has obtained a license from or is affiliated with the owner of that universe.
We may restrict or remove third-party material in accordance with the intellectual-property complaint process below.
14. Intellectual Property Complaints and Content Removal
Lifict respects intellectual-property rights and expects users to do the same.
A rights holder or authorized representative may request removal or restriction of material that they reasonably believe infringes copyright, trademark, publicity, personality, or other applicable rights.
14.1 How to Submit a Complaint
An intellectual-property complaint may be submitted through our Contact page.
Where Lifict later provides a dedicated intellectual-property or copyright reporting address or form, that method may also be used.
A complaint should contain enough information for us to identify both the claimed right and the reported material. Where applicable, please provide:
- Your name and contact information.
- Identification of the protected work or right, such as the copyrighted work, trademark, character, artwork, photograph, name, likeness, or other material you claim is protected.
- Identification of the reported content, including a URL, character name, story name, username, content identifier, screenshot, or other information reasonably sufficient for us to locate it.
- An explanation of your complaint, including why you believe the use is unauthorized or otherwise infringes your rights.
- Information showing that you are the rights holder or are authorized to act for the rights holder, where relevant.
- A good-faith statement that the information you provided is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you reasonably believe the disputed use is not authorized by the rights holder, its agent, or applicable law.
- A signature or equivalent confirmation, where required by applicable law or reasonably necessary to authenticate the request.
We may request additional information where reasonably necessary to investigate a complaint.
14.2 Review and Possible Actions
After receiving a sufficiently complete complaint, Lifict may:
- review the reported material;
- temporarily restrict its visibility while a review takes place;
- request additional information from the complainant;
- contact the user responsible for the reported content;
- remove or disable access to content;
- restrict content from public discovery;
- reject the complaint where we reasonably determine that no violation has been established; or
- take other action required by applicable law.
Where appropriate, we may inform the affected user of the complaint and the reason for action taken against their content.
We may disclose information from a complaint or response where reasonably necessary to investigate the dispute, provide a fair review process, establish or defend legal rights, or comply with applicable law.
14.3 Counter-Notice or Appeal
If your content is removed or restricted because of an intellectual-property complaint and you believe the decision was incorrect, you may submit a counter-notice or appeal through our Contact page.
Your response should include, where applicable:
- your name and contact information;
- identification of the content that was removed or restricted;
- the previous location of that content, where available;
- an explanation of why you believe the restriction or removal was incorrect;
- relevant information showing ownership, authorization, license, consent, fair use, quotation, parody, another exception, or other lawful basis on which you rely; and
- a good-faith statement that the information you provide is accurate.
We may provide relevant portions of your response to the original complainant where appropriate or required by law.
After review, we may:
- restore the content;
- maintain the restriction;
- request further information;
- require the parties to resolve the dispute through an appropriate legal process; or
- take another action required by applicable law.
Submitting an appeal does not guarantee restoration.
14.4 Formal Statutory Procedures
Some jurisdictions provide specific statutory procedures for copyright notices, counter-notices, online-platform complaints, or content removal.
Where such a procedure applies, we may require additional information or steps required by that law.
Lifict does not claim to have appointed a statutory DMCA agent, obtained a particular safe-harbor status, or completed any equivalent registration unless such information is separately and expressly published by Lifict.
14.5 Repeat Infringers
Users who repeatedly or seriously infringe third-party intellectual-property rights may have their content removed, publishing abilities restricted, or accounts suspended or permanently terminated.
When deciding whether additional enforcement is appropriate, we may consider:
- the number of substantiated complaints;
- the seriousness of the infringement;
- whether conduct appears intentional;
- previous warnings;
- attempts to evade enforcement; and
- applicable legal requirements.
Serious or deliberate infringement may result in immediate action.
14.6 False or Abusive Complaints
Do not knowingly submit false, fraudulent, or abusive complaints or counter-notices.
We may reject complaints that are clearly incomplete, fraudulent, abusive, or primarily intended to harass another user.
A person submitting a complaint or counter-notice remains responsible for the statements they make.
15. Real People
Lifict is primarily designed for fictional characters and fictional storytelling.
You may not use Lifict to create sexually explicit content involving an identifiable real person without valid consent and any additional approval that Lifict may require.
You may not use another person's name, image, voice, likeness, identity, or private information to:
- impersonate them deceptively;
- commit fraud;
- sexually exploit or humiliate them;
- harass or threaten them;
- defame them;
- create harmful deepfakes;
- disclose private information; or
- otherwise violate their rights.
Lawful contextual references to historical or public figures may be permitted where consistent with applicable law and our Content Policy.
16. Content Policy
Your use of Lifict must comply with our Content Policy.
The Content Policy applies to content including:
- private messages;
- characters;
- stories;
- personas;
- prompts;
- Generated Content;
- images;
- profiles;
- descriptions;
- comments; and
- public creator content.
Some presentation standards may be stricter for publicly visible content than for private fictional text.
Serious safety restrictions apply regardless of whether content is private or public.
17. Moderation and Enforcement
Lifict may use automated systems and, where reasonably necessary, authorized human review to enforce:
- these Terms;
- our Content Policy;
- platform security rules;
- intellectual-property complaints; and
- applicable law.
Depending on the nature, severity, context, and frequency of a violation, we may:
- refuse or interrupt a generation;
- issue a warning;
- restrict a feature;
- limit content visibility;
- require changes before publication;
- remove content;
- temporarily suspend an account;
- permanently terminate an account; or
- report unlawful activity where required by law.
We may take immediate action where reasonably necessary to protect users, third parties, the Service, or the public.
Automated moderation systems may make mistakes.
The presence of content on Lifict does not mean that Lifict has reviewed, approved, licensed, or endorsed it.
18. Reports and Appeals
Users may report content or conduct they believe violates these Terms or our Content Policy through in-product reporting tools where available or through our Contact page.
Please provide information reasonably sufficient for us to locate and understand the reported issue.
Where appropriate or required by applicable law, users may request review of moderation decisions.
We may uphold, modify, or reverse a decision following review.
Intellectual-property complaints are handled under Section 14.
19. Platform Integrity
You may not misuse Lifict or interfere with its normal operation.
Prohibited conduct includes:
- distributing malware;
- phishing;
- fraud;
- spam;
- unauthorized scraping;
- unauthorized automated extraction of characters or stories;
- harvesting user information;
- bypassing usage limits;
- bypassing age-assurance systems;
- circumventing moderation controls;
- circumventing account suspensions or bans;
- attempting unauthorized access to accounts, databases, systems, or networks; or
- deliberately interfering with Service availability.
Reverse engineering is prohibited to the extent permitted by applicable law, except where applicable law expressly provides a right that cannot be waived by contract.
20. Third-Party Services and AI Providers
Lifict relies on third-party providers for parts of the Service. These may include providers of:
- cloud infrastructure;
- AI models;
- AI routing;
- databases;
- storage;
- authentication;
- email;
- security;
- age assurance;
- moderation;
- analytics; and
- payment processing.
Availability of any particular AI model, provider, routing method, feature, or model behavior is not guaranteed.
We may add, replace, restrict, or remove providers where reasonably necessary.
The Privacy Policy explains how relevant personal information may be processed through such providers.
21. Regional Availability
Lifict may not be available in every country or region.
We may restrict access, particular features, or certain categories of content where reasonably necessary because of:
- local law;
- regulatory requirements;
- age-assurance obligations;
- AI-provider limitations;
- payment-provider requirements;
- sanctions;
- security concerns; or
- other legal or operational restrictions.
The availability of a feature in one jurisdiction does not guarantee availability in another jurisdiction.
22. Paid Services
Lifict may introduce subscriptions, usage-based features, credits, or other paid services.
Before you make a purchase, we will provide the applicable price and material billing terms.
Payments may be processed by third-party payment processors, merchants of record, app stores, or other authorized payment providers.
A particular payment provider is not guaranteed.
Where recurring subscriptions are offered, information such as the following will be presented before purchase:
- price;
- billing period;
- automatic renewal terms;
- cancellation method;
- applicable taxes; and
- other material purchase conditions.
Payment for Lifict does not exempt an account or content from moderation, policy enforcement, or legal restrictions.
Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights concerning cancellation, withdrawal, refunds, defective services, or other protections that apply under applicable law.
23. Changes to the Service
We may modify, add, replace, restrict, suspend, or discontinue features of Lifict.
This is particularly likely during Closed Alpha, beta, and other pre-release stages. We may also change:
- AI models;
- providers;
- technical limits;
- memory systems;
- generation methods;
- supported platforms;
- pricing;
- subscription structures; or
- supported jurisdictions.
Where reasonably possible, we will seek to avoid unnecessary disruption to existing users and stories.
24. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using Lifict at any time.
Where account-deletion functionality is available, you may request account deletion subject to our Privacy Policy and applicable retention requirements.
We may restrict or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of:
- a material or repeated violation of these Terms;
- a Content Policy violation;
- age ineligibility;
- unlawful activity;
- fraud;
- serious or repeated intellectual-property infringement;
- security abuse;
- payment abuse;
- attempts to evade previous enforcement;
- serious risk to users or third parties; or
- legal or regulatory requirements.
Termination does not affect provisions that by their nature should continue to apply after termination.
25. No Professional Advice
Lifict is a creative storytelling service.
Generated Content does not constitute:
- medical advice;
- mental-health treatment;
- legal advice;
- financial advice;
- tax advice;
- emergency assistance; or
- another professional service.
You should consult an appropriately qualified professional where professional assistance is required.
26. Service Availability and Disclaimer
Lifict is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Particularly during pre-release stages, we do not guarantee that the Service will always:
- be uninterrupted;
- be error-free;
- preserve every generation or story state;
- work with every device;
- provide access to a particular AI model; or
- produce a particular type or quality of Generated Content.
AI systems are inherently probabilistic and may produce unexpected results.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
27. Liability
Our liability is governed by applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be prohibited by law.
In particular, nothing in these Terms is intended to limit mandatory liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, injury to life, body, or health, or other liability that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
If you use Lifict as a consumer, any mandatory consumer protections applicable to you remain unaffected.
28. Privacy
Our collection and processing of personal information are described in our Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy also explains how information may be processed through AI providers, infrastructure providers, age-assurance providers, moderation systems, and other service providers.
29. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as Lifict evolves or as legal, regulatory, technical, or operational requirements change.
The current version will display the date it was last updated.
Where required by applicable law, we will provide appropriate notice before material changes take effect.
Where applicable law requires renewed agreement to a material change, we will request it.
30. Applicable Law and Mandatory Consumer Rights
These Terms are subject to applicable law.
Until Lifict's final operating structure is established, we do not designate a contractual governing jurisdiction beyond what is provided by applicable law.
If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms deprives you of mandatory protections available under the law of your country of habitual residence where those protections cannot lawfully be waived.
Additional information regarding the responsible service provider, applicable jurisdiction, and legally required business information will be published when applicable.
31. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will apply only to the maximum extent permitted by law.
The remaining provisions will continue in effect.
32. No Waiver
If we do not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, that does not mean that we waive the right to enforce it later.
33. Relationship Between These Terms and Other Policies
These Terms and the Content Policy govern your use of Lifict.
The Privacy Policy explains how personal information is processed.
Additional terms may apply to specific paid features, promotions, creator programs, or other optional services introduced in the future.
If additional terms conflict with these Terms for a specific feature, the more specific terms will apply to that feature to the extent stated.
34. Contact
Questions about these Terms, moderation, account enforcement, intellectual-property complaints, content removal, or the Service generally may be submitted through the Contact page available on Lifict.
Additional legally required service-provider and business information will be published when applicable.
