Content Policy

1. Creative Freedom for Adults
Lifict is an adults-only platform for interactive fiction, roleplay, and character-driven storytelling.
We want adults to have room to explore a wide range of fictional stories, including:
- romance;
- dark romance;
- fantasy;
- science fiction;
- horror;
- mystery;
- adventure;
- dramatic relationships;
- sexuality;
- violence;
- morally complicated characters; and
- other mature fictional themes.
Creative freedom does not mean that anything is permitted.
The boundaries below are designed to protect real people, prevent exploitation and illegal content, and keep Lifict a sustainable home for fictional storytelling.
2. Where This Policy Applies
This Policy applies to content created, submitted, uploaded, generated, published, or shared through Lifict, including:
- characters;
- stories;
- personas;
- prompts;
- chat messages;
- AI-generated responses;
- opening messages;
- character descriptions;
- avatars;
- cover images;
- creator profiles;
- comments;
- public posts; and
- other content available through the Service.
Some rules apply differently to private fictional text and publicly visible content.
The hard safety boundaries in this Policy apply regardless of whether content is private or public.
3. Adult Sexual and Romantic Content
Fictional sexual and erotic text involving consenting adult characters is permitted.
This may include fictional:
- romance;
- sexual tension;
- erotic themes;
- nudity described in text;
- adult relationships; and
- explicit sexual scenes,
provided all involved characters are clearly adults and the content complies with the rest of this Policy.
Dark, possessive, dangerous, toxic, or morally complicated fictional relationships may be explored as storytelling themes.
However, sexual activity itself must comply with the consent and safety requirements below.
4. Minors — Zero Tolerance for Sexual or Romantic Content
Sexual or romantic content involving anyone under the age of 18 is prohibited.
This applies to human, fictional, fantasy, animated, non-human, or roleplayed characters.
Prohibited content includes characters who:
- are stated to be under 18;
- are clearly depicted as children;
- are strongly coded as children despite a nominal adult age;
- are presented with an ambiguous age in a sexual or romantic context; or
- are mentally presented as children in a sexual context.
Simply changing a character's numerical age to 18 while continuing to depict that character as a child does not make the content acceptable.
Characters intended for sexual or romantic interaction must be clearly established as adults.
Non-sexual minors may appear in appropriate fictional background or family contexts, provided they are not sexualized, exploited, groomed, or used to facilitate prohibited adult roleplay.
5. Consent and Sexual Violence
Sexual content must involve consenting adults.
Lifict does not permit sexual content depicting or facilitating:
- rape;
- sexual assault;
- forced sexual activity;
- sexual exploitation;
- sexual trafficking;
- sexual extortion;
- grooming;
- sexual activity with a person unable to consent; or
- sexual activity where lack of consent is the intended sexual premise.
A fictional story may discuss or reference difficult events where contextually necessary, but Lifict may restrict explicit sexualized depictions of non-consensual activity.
Dark romance, conflict, obsession, jealousy, power imbalance, or morally questionable fictional characters do not by themselves violate this rule, provided sexual interaction does not cross the boundaries above.
6. Other Prohibited Sexual Content
The following sexual content is prohibited:
Incest
Sexual content involving biological close family relationships is not permitted.
Real Animals
Sexual content involving real animals or fictional creatures that do not have a meaningful ability to understand and give adult consent is prohibited.
Anthropomorphic or fully fictional adult characters may be treated differently where they clearly possess adult human-level intelligence, communication, and capacity to consent.
Necrophilia
Sexual content involving corpses is prohibited.
Child-Coded or Age-Regressed Sexual Content
Sexual content involving a character presented physically or mentally as a child is prohibited even where the character is assigned an adult numerical age.
7. Real People and Sexual Content
Lifict is designed primarily for fictional characters.
Sexually explicit content involving an identifiable real person is prohibited unless a separately approved use case has valid, verifiable consent and complies with applicable law.
You may not use Lifict to sexually exploit or humiliate:
- celebrities;
- influencers;
- performers;
- politicians;
- private individuals;
- acquaintances;
- former partners; or
- any other identifiable real person.
You may not create non-consensual sexual deepfakes or use a real person's image, voice, name, or likeness to create deceptive sexual material.
8. Public Images and Explicit Visual Content
Lifict may permit explicit adult themes in fictional text while applying stricter rules to visual content.
Pornographic or sexually explicit imagery is not permitted in:
- character avatars;
- story covers;
- profile pictures;
- public posts;
- thumbnails;
- uploaded images; or
- generated images made available through Lifict.
This includes imagery displaying:
- explicit genitalia;
- depicted sexual activity;
- sexual fluids; or
- other imagery whose primary purpose is explicit pornographic depiction.
Suggestive, romantic, or mature imagery may be permitted where it is suitable for public platform display and complies with applicable law and the rest of this Policy.
9. Violence, Horror, and Dark Fiction
Fictional violence, danger, crime, horror, villains, war, supernatural threats, and morally complex stories may be permitted.
The existence of violence inside a fictional narrative does not by itself violate this Policy.
However, Lifict may not be used to:
- make credible threats against real people;
- coordinate real-world violence;
- meaningfully assist violent criminal activity;
- recruit for violent extremist or terrorist organizations;
- provide actionable instructions intended to facilitate terrorism or serious violence; or
- celebrate or encourage imminent real-world harm.
Graphic public imagery may be subject to stricter standards than private fictional text.
10. Self-Harm and Suicide
Fictional stories may address difficult subjects such as:
- grief;
- trauma;
- depression;
- self-harm;
- suicidal thoughts; or
- recovery.
Such themes are not automatically prohibited.
However, Lifict may not be used to:
- encourage a real person to harm themselves;
- glorify suicide or serious self-harm as desirable;
- pressure someone toward self-harm;
- provide actionable instructions for suicide or serious self-injury; or
- intentionally assist an imminent real-world self-harm attempt.
Where necessary for safety, Lifict may interrupt or limit an interaction involving an immediate real-world safety concern.
11. Hate, Discrimination, and Harassment
Fictional villains and stories may contain conflict, prejudice, offensive behavior, or other difficult themes where relevant to the narrative.
However, users may not use Lifict to:
- promote real-world hatred or violence against protected groups;
- organize harassment;
- repeatedly target a real person for abuse;
- make credible threats;
- blackmail another person; or
- encourage discrimination or violence against real people.
Context matters when distinguishing fictional depiction from real-world promotion.
12. Illegal Activity and Dangerous Conduct
Lifict may not be used to facilitate or meaningfully assist serious real-world criminal activity.
This includes content intended to materially facilitate:
- human trafficking;
- terrorism;
- violent extremism;
- fraud;
- malware;
- sexual exploitation;
- serious physical harm; or
- other unlawful activity where providing such assistance would itself be unlawful or dangerous.
Fictional crime stories, mysteries, villains, and criminal plots are not automatically prohibited merely because criminal activity appears in the story.
13. Real People, Identity, and Impersonation
Outside sexual content, lawful fictional or contextual references to historical or public figures may be permitted.
However, do not use another person's identity to:
- impersonate them deceptively;
- commit fraud;
- mislead users into believing they are communicating with the real person;
- defame them;
- threaten or harass them;
- manipulate elections or political processes through deceptive impersonation;
- create harmful deepfakes; or
- violate their privacy or personality rights.
A character inspired by a real person must not falsely imply that the real person created, authorized, endorsed, or operates that character.
14. Intellectual Property and Fan Works
Respect copyrights, trademarks, characters, fictional universes, artwork, brands, and other intellectual property belonging to others.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights or another lawful basis necessary to upload or publish content.
Fan-created, parody, commentary, referential, or transformative works may be permitted where lawful.
However, you may not falsely present fan-created content as:
- official;
- licensed;
- sponsored;
- authorized; or
- endorsed by the relevant rights holder.
For example, the presence of a character inspired by a well-known fictional universe does not mean that Lifict has obtained a license from or is affiliated with the owner of that universe.
Lifict may remove or restrict content following a valid intellectual-property complaint or where we reasonably determine that continued availability creates legal risk.
Rights holders may submit complaints through our Contact page.
15. Privacy and Personal Information
Do not publish another person's private information without authorization.
Prohibited conduct includes:
- doxxing;
- publishing private addresses or contact details;
- publishing passwords or authentication credentials;
- sexual extortion;
- sharing non-consensual intimate material;
- publishing confidential personal records; or
- using private information to threaten or exploit another person.
16. Public Content and Private Stories
Private conversations are not automatically public merely because they occur on Lifict.
Public content may be subject to stricter standards because it can appear in Discover, recommendations, profiles, search results, character pages, or other shared surfaces.
For example, content that may be acceptable as mature private fictional text may still be unsuitable for:
- a public avatar;
- a title;
- a thumbnail;
- a public description; or
- promotional material.
Hard safety restrictions involving minors, exploitation, illegal activity, real-person abuse, and similar serious violations apply to both private and public content.
17. Platform Integrity and Abuse
Do not misuse Lifict or interfere with other users' access to the Service.
Prohibited conduct includes:
- malware;
- phishing;
- scams;
- spam;
- unauthorized scraping;
- automated harvesting of characters or stories;
- harvesting user information;
- bypassing rate limits;
- bypassing age-assurance systems;
- circumventing moderation controls;
- circumventing suspensions or bans;
- attempting unauthorized access to systems or accounts; and
- deliberately disrupting the Service.
18. Moderation
Lifict may use automated systems to identify content or activity that may violate this Policy.
Public content may be screened before or after publication.
Reported, flagged, or high-risk content may be reviewed by authorized personnel where reasonably necessary.
Automated moderation systems can make mistakes.
The presence of content on Lifict does not mean that Lifict has reviewed, approved, endorsed, or licensed that content.
19. Enforcement
When content or activity violates this Policy, we may take action depending on:
- severity;
- context;
- whether the violation appears intentional;
- risk to other people;
- legal requirements; and
- previous violations.
Actions may include:
- refusing a generation;
- warning the user;
- requiring changes;
- limiting visibility;
- removing content;
- restricting specific features;
- temporarily suspending access;
- permanently terminating an account; or
- reporting unlawful activity where legally required.
Serious violations involving child sexual exploitation, credible threats, human trafficking, or other unlawful activity may result in immediate action.
20. Reporting
If you believe content violates this Policy, you may use the in-product Report feature where available or submit a report through our Contact page.
Please provide enough information for us to identify the relevant content and understand the concern.
Intellectual-property owners may also use this process until a dedicated Content Removal / IP reporting page is introduced.
21. Appeals
If your content or account is restricted and you believe the decision was incorrect, you may request review through our Contact page where an appeal is available.
We may uphold, modify, or reverse the original decision after review.
22. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy as Lifict evolves, new features become available, legal requirements change, or new safety risks emerge.
The latest version will display its update date.
Where appropriate, material changes may also be communicated through the Service.
