Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 21, 2026
1. About This Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Lifict ("Lifict", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you access or use the Lifict website, Closed Alpha, applications, AI-powered features, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
Lifict is an interactive storytelling platform. Access to the Service is limited to users aged 18 or older.
This age requirement describes who may use Lifict. It does not mean that every story, character, or experience available through Lifict contains mature or sexual content.
Our Terms of Service govern use of the Service, and our Content Policy explains the rules that apply to content and storytelling on Lifict.
2. Data Controller and Contact Details
The data controller responsible for the processing described in this Privacy Policy is:
Privacy questions and requests may also be submitted through our Contact page.
Lifict is currently operated as a pre-launch project. If the person or entity responsible for operating Lifict changes in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
3. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use Lifict.
3.1 Account and Registration Information
When you apply for the Closed Alpha, create an account, or use account features, we may collect information such as:
- email address;
- username or display name;
- authentication and account identifiers;
- account preferences and settings;
- information you voluntarily provide through a Closed Alpha application;
- confirmation that you meet our 18+ eligibility requirement;
- records showing your acceptance of our Terms of Service and Content Policy and acknowledgement of this Privacy Policy; and
- the date and version of applicable policies accepted or acknowledged.
We generally do not need your full date of birth simply to operate an account unless additional age information is required for age assurance, legal compliance, or another clearly disclosed purpose.
3.2 Age Eligibility and Age Assurance
Access to Lifict is limited to users aged 18 or older.
In some jurisdictions, self-declaration may not be sufficient to establish adult eligibility. We may therefore require additional age assurance or age verification where required by law, necessary to comply with regulatory obligations, or reasonably necessary to confirm eligibility.
Where possible, age assurance will be performed by a specialized third-party provider rather than by Lifict directly.
Lifict is designed to minimize the personal information it receives in connection with age assurance. Depending on the verification method, we may receive information such as:
- confirmation that you have been verified as 18 or older;
- the verification or assurance level;
- the date or validity period of the verification;
- the jurisdiction to which the verification applies; and
- a pseudonymous verification reference.
Lifict is designed to avoid receiving or storing copies of identity documents, selfies, biometric templates, or similar verification materials where eligibility can be established without them.
Information that you provide directly to a third-party age-assurance provider will be processed in accordance with that provider's privacy terms and the applicable arrangement between Lifict and that provider.
3.3 Characters, Stories, Personas, and Conversations
When you use Lifict, we process content necessary to provide interactive storytelling features.
This may include:
- characters and character descriptions;
- stories, scenarios, and story settings;
- personas;
- prompts and instructions;
- chat messages;
- AI-generated responses;
- edits and alternative generations;
- story branches;
- relationship and story-state information;
- summaries and memory records used to maintain continuity;
- preferences relating to characters and stories; and
- other content you create, upload, or interact with.
Private conversations are not publicly visible unless you intentionally use a feature designed to publish or share content.
Because Lifict is designed for long-running stories, information from conversations may be transformed into summaries, structured memory, relationship state, or other continuity information associated with your story or account.
3.4 Content You Make Public
If Lifict provides features that allow you to publish characters, stories, creator profiles, comments, or other content, information you intentionally publish may be visible to other users or to the public.
Do not include information in public content that you do not want others to see.
3.5 Technical and Usage Information
We may automatically collect information reasonably necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service, including:
- IP address;
- browser type and version;
- device type and operating-system information;
- session and account identifiers;
- approximate geographic location derived from network information;
- timestamps;
- pages and features used;
- request and performance information;
- error and crash information;
- security events;
- rate-limit and anti-abuse signals; and
- similar technical logs.
Where appropriate, we may use pseudonymous, hashed, or otherwise minimized identifiers instead of directly identifying information.
3.6 Support and Communications
If you contact us, we may process:
- your email address and other contact information you provide;
- the subject and contents of your request;
- screenshots, files, or attachments you choose to provide;
- support history; and
- other information you voluntarily include in the communication.
Information submitted through the Contact page is used to respond to and manage the relevant request, including technical support, privacy requests, safety reports, moderation appeals, and intellectual-property complaints.
3.7 Payments and Subscription Information
If Lifict introduces paid services, payments may be processed by third-party payment processors, merchants of record, app stores, or other authorized payment providers.
Lifict does not intend to store full payment-card numbers or equivalent payment credentials.
We may receive and retain information necessary to administer purchases, such as:
- transaction reference;
- payment status;
- subscription status;
- purchase date;
- product or plan purchased;
- billing country;
- amount paid; and
- refund or cancellation status.
Additional payment information will be provided before paid services are introduced where required.
4. Sensitive Personal Information
Lifict does not require you to provide sensitive real-world personal information in order to use its interactive storytelling features.
Storytelling content may concern sensitive fictional subjects. Content about a fictional character does not necessarily constitute personal information about you.
However, information you voluntarily disclose about yourself may reveal sensitive information, such as health information, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, political opinions, or information about your sex life.
Please avoid providing real-world sensitive information that is not necessary for your use of the Service.
In particular, do not provide passwords, government identification numbers, payment credentials, medical records, precise private addresses, or confidential information belonging to another person.
Where processing of special categories of personal data requires a specific legal basis or explicit consent under applicable law, Lifict will apply the appropriate requirements to the relevant processing.
5. How and Why We Use Information
We process personal information for the following purposes and on the legal bases that apply to the particular processing activity.
Providing the Service
We process account information, story content, prompts, messages, memory, and related information to provide the Lifict features you request.
Where GDPR applies, this processing is generally necessary to perform our contract with you or to take steps at your request before entering into that contract.
Age Eligibility
We process age confirmation or age-assurance status to confirm that users meet Lifict's 18+ eligibility requirement.
Depending on the circumstances, this processing may be necessary to perform our agreement with you and/or to comply with applicable legal obligations.
Security, Abuse Prevention, and Platform Integrity
We process technical information and, where necessary, relevant Service activity to:
- protect accounts and the Service;
- prevent fraud;
- enforce rate limits;
- identify scraping or automated abuse;
- prevent circumvention of security or age controls;
- investigate security incidents; and
- enforce our Terms of Service and Content Policy.
Where GDPR applies, this processing is generally based on our legitimate interests in maintaining a secure and reliable Service and, where relevant, compliance with legal obligations.
Story Continuity and Personalization
We process messages, story context, summaries, memory records, character information, relationship state, and preferences to provide long-running stories and personalized character interactions.
This processing is generally necessary to provide the Service you request.
Closed Alpha, Product Operation, and Improvement
During the Closed Alpha and other pre-release stages, we may process application information, feedback, feature usage, performance information, errors, and de-identified or aggregated information to test, maintain, and improve Lifict.
Where GDPR applies, this is generally based on our legitimate interests in developing and improving the Service, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
Support and Communications
We process information to respond to support requests, privacy requests, reports, and other communications.
Depending on the nature of the request, this may be necessary to perform our agreement with you, comply with a legal obligation, or pursue our legitimate interests in operating and supporting the Service.
Payments
If paid services are introduced, we will process relevant transaction and subscription information to provide purchased services, administer billing, prevent payment fraud, and comply with accounting, tax, and other legal obligations.
Consent
Where applicable law requires consent for a particular activity, such as certain non-essential cookies, optional analytics, or marketing communications, we will request consent before carrying out that processing.
You may withdraw consent at any time for future processing where processing is based on consent.
6. AI Models and Other Service Providers
Lifict relies on third-party technology and infrastructure providers to operate parts of the Service.
When you use an AI-powered feature, information reasonably necessary to generate the requested response may be transmitted to an AI model provider or routing provider.
Depending on the feature, this may include:
- your current message;
- relevant recent conversation history;
- character instructions;
- persona information;
- selected story context;
- relevant memory or summaries; and
- technical information necessary to process the request.
We seek to send only information reasonably necessary for the requested functionality.
Lifict may also use service providers for functions including:
- hosting and cloud infrastructure;
- databases and storage;
- authentication;
- email delivery;
- security and fraud prevention;
- content moderation;
- analytics;
- age assurance;
- customer support; and
- payment processing.
These providers may process information as necessary to provide their services to Lifict and subject to applicable contractual and legal requirements.
Providers, models, and infrastructure may change as Lifict develops.
7. Private Conversations, Advertising, and AI Training
We do not sell private conversations.
We do not use private conversations for targeted advertising.
We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Lifict does not use private conversations to train general-purpose foundation models.
Where third-party AI providers process information through API or business services, we use provider terms, settings, and routing controls intended to prevent customer content from being used for general model training where supported.
Some providers may temporarily retain request or response information for purposes such as security, abuse prevention, service operation, or legal compliance under their applicable business or API terms.
We may use aggregated, de-identified, statistical, or technical information to understand and improve Lifict where that information is no longer reasonably linked to an identifiable user.
If our practices concerning private conversations or model training materially change in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any notice, choice, or consent required by applicable law before applying the changed practice.
8. Content Moderation and Safety Processing
Lifict may use automated systems to identify content or activity that may violate our Terms of Service, Content Policy, security rules, or applicable law.
Private conversations are not routinely published or made available to other users.
Authorized persons may access private content where reasonably necessary, including:
- when you request support and provide relevant content;
- when content or activity is flagged for a serious policy or safety issue;
- when investigating fraud or security incidents;
- where necessary to enforce our policies;
- where required by applicable law; or
- where reasonably necessary to protect users, the Service, or others from serious harm.
Access to private content should be limited to persons with a legitimate need to review it.
9. When We Share Information
We may disclose personal information to service providers where reasonably necessary to operate Lifict as described in this Policy.
We may also disclose relevant information:
- where required by applicable law, regulation, court order, or lawful governmental request;
- to investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or serious policy violations;
- to enforce our Terms of Service or Content Policy;
- to protect the rights, safety, or property of Lifict, our users, or others;
- in connection with intellectual-property, privacy, or other legal complaints;
- in connection with a future merger, financing, restructuring, acquisition, or transfer of all or part of the Service; or
- where you direct or consent to the disclosure.
We do not sell personal information or private conversations.
10. International Data Transfers
Lifict may use service providers located in countries other than the country in which you live.
As a result, personal information may be processed in countries outside the European Economic Area or otherwise outside your country of residence.
Where required by applicable law, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers, which may include:
- European Commission adequacy decisions;
- Standard Contractual Clauses;
- other approved contractual safeguards; or
- another lawful transfer mechanism.
You may contact us at privacy@lifict.com or through our Contact page for additional information about safeguards applicable to relevant international transfers.
11. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.
Relevant factors include:
- how long your account remains active;
- whether information is required to provide an ongoing story, memory, or account feature;
- Closed Alpha administration;
- security and abuse-prevention requirements;
- applicable legal obligations;
- payment and accounting requirements;
- disputes or legal claims; and
- your deletion choices.
Account information and private story content may generally be retained while your account remains active.
When an account, conversation, story, or other content is deleted, associated information may remain for a limited period in backups, security records, or other systems where immediate deletion is not technically feasible or where continued retention is legally permitted or required.
Transaction information may be retained for periods required by tax, accounting, consumer-protection, or other laws.
Age-assurance status may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to establish eligibility or comply with applicable legal requirements.
We will update this section with more specific retention periods where appropriate as production systems and legal requirements are finalized.
12. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live and subject to applicable legal conditions and exceptions, you may have rights to:
- obtain information about how your personal information is processed;
- access personal information we hold about you;
- receive a copy of certain information;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- request deletion;
- restrict certain processing;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- receive certain information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent where processing relies on consent; and
- lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection authority.
Requests may be submitted to privacy@lifict.com or through our Contact page.
We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity before completing certain privacy requests.
Where GDPR applies, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
For Lifict's current controller in Bremen, the local supervisory authority is:
Der Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit
Georgstraße 122–124
27570 Bremerhaven
Germany
Email: office@datenschutz.bremen.de
You may also contact another competent supervisory authority where applicable. The Bremen authority confirms the right to submit GDPR complaints through its complaint process.
13. Automated Decision-Making
Lifict does not currently use solely automated decision-making that produces legal effects or similarly significant effects concerning users within the meaning of applicable data-protection law.
Automated systems may assist with security, abuse prevention, content moderation, recommendations, or Service operation, but significant account-enforcement decisions may be reviewed where appropriate or required by law.
14. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Lifict may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies that are necessary for functions such as:
- authentication;
- account security;
- session management;
- user preferences; and
- basic Service functionality.
Non-essential analytics, advertising, or similar technologies will only be used in accordance with applicable legal requirements.
Where consent is required for non-essential technologies, we will request that consent before using them.
Additional cookie controls or information may be provided if and when such technologies are introduced.
15. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
These measures may include:
- encrypted network communications;
- access controls;
- authentication safeguards;
- secure development practices;
- logging and monitoring;
- restricted production access;
- security and abuse-prevention systems; and
- data minimization.
No online service can guarantee absolute security.
16. Age Eligibility
Access to Lifict is limited to users aged 18 or older.
If we reasonably believe that a user does not meet this requirement, we may restrict access, request additional age assurance, suspend the account, or terminate the account.
If we determine that personal information has been collected from a person who was not eligible to use the Service, we may delete that information where appropriate and legally permitted.
17. Third-Party Links and Services
Lifict may contain links to websites, applications, or services operated by third parties.
Those third parties are responsible for their own privacy practices.
This Privacy Policy does not govern services that are independently operated by third parties merely because Lifict links to them.
18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Lifict develops or as legal, technical, and operational requirements change.
The date at the top of this Policy identifies the current version.
If a change materially affects how we process personal information, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent where required by applicable law.
